Quick answers.
What does Humpback do?
You lay out the tasks, what each one waits for, and who does it. Humpback works out the dates, shows the critical path and flags what doesn’t fit. Press Sync and each person’s work appears in their Google Calendar.
Does my team need to install anything?
No. Only managers use the app. Everyone else gets a calendar, shared with their email address or by a link you send them.
What does my team actually see?
A calendar called Humpback — [their name] with only their own work: one event per working day, with the task notes, the project name and your name. They can’t edit it, so it always matches your plan. If they have no email address, you can share it by link; anyone with that link can see it.
Is Google Calendar required?
Only to publish. You can plan without it.
What happens when I press Sync?
Humpback adds events for new work, updates what changed, and removes what no longer applies. Until you press Sync, nothing leaves your computer.
Do I need to know project management?
No. If you know which job comes before which, you have what you need. Dependency types, lags, constraints and float are there when you want them.
Can a task contain other tasks?
Yes. Any task can hold its own sub-plan. Its dates come from the work inside it.
Does each manager need their own Google account?
No. Each manager can connect their own account, or your company can use one shared Google account for everyone. With a shared account and a shared organization file, each person keeps a single Humpback calendar across all your projects. Neither is required; it’s your choice.
What is a journal?
A shared file that lets managers of different projects see when a person is already booked. You create it in a folder the other managers can reach, and they join it from their Humpback. When you create it, you choose whether project and manager names are stored, whether it has a password, and whether moves happen automatically, with a notification, or only after approval. These choices can’t be changed later.
Does a journal prevent every double booking?
It flags every booking that has been synced to it. It can’t see commitments nobody recorded, so it helps managers catch and settle clashes rather than guaranteeing there will be none.
What is an organization file?
A copy of the people you choose (names, emails, calendar links) that a colleague can import. It’s a snapshot, not a live link, and you can protect it with a password.
How do I pass a project to a colleague?
Settings → Project → Hand off. Humpback releases the project’s bookings, removes the events it published, and gives you a file (optionally encrypted) for your colleague to import.
Is Humpback available in Italian?
Yes. The app is in English and Italian.
